From scan to saved

A simple routine.
A record you can find.

Replace loose check sheets with a repeatable workflow your team can follow on the workshop floor.

01 / IDENTIFY

Scan the hoist.

A unique QR label opens the right hoist in an iPhone or Android browser. Use Wi-Fi or mobile data and sign in with your own name and PIN.

02 / INSPECT

Follow the checks.

One question at a time, with guidance. Record a pass, a fault, or an item that cannot be checked.

03 / RECORD

Keep the history.

Save the result to your workshop’s hosted records. A second daily submission is prevented, while new faults can still be reported.

Take it for a test drive

Less guesswork.
More guidance.

Staff should know what they are checking. HoistCheck presents instructions alongside each question, so the daily routine has a clear structure.

  • Clear pass, fault and unable-to-check options
  • Stop the sequence when a problem is found
  • Separate daily checks and professional inspection dates

Illustrative demo only. The current pilot includes draft two-post and four-post questions. Each model’s checklist needs verification against its manufacturer’s instructions before operational use.

A home for every hoist

Choose two-post or four-post for each hoist. Register names, makes, models and serial numbers, with a printable QR label for each one.

☷

Checks with context

One generic five-group approach shows the relevant equipment checks for each hoist type, with explanatory text for staff.

Faults that stay visible

Record a problem at any time. Separate manager clearance keeps unresolved faults in view.

Ready to get started?

Request a private invitation. Enter your workshop details, manager PIN and hoist information online. Rob reviews the setup before activating your workshop.

The generic two-post and four-post checklist variants remain drafts. Verify it against the manufacturer’s instructions and your competent inspector’s requirements before operational use.

Opens your email app with the details filled in. Review and send it to rob@twincitiesauto.com.au. An invitation is issued after your enquiry is reviewed.
A few things worth knowing

Your questions, answered.

Does every staff member need to install an app?

No phone app or local Python installation is needed. Staff use their iPhone or Android browser over Wi-Fi or mobile data. An internet connection is required; your workshop computer does not need to stay on.

Does it support every brand and model?

You can register different makes and models of two-post and four-post hoists. The current pilot uses a generic checklist with relevant items for the selected hoist type. Two-post checks cover lifting pads and arms; four-post checks cover runways, ramps and vehicle stops. It needs verification against each hoist’s manufacturer instructions and required functional tests before operational use. It is not a catalogue of approved model-specific checklists.

What happens when a professional inspection expires?

The program shows the professional inspection as out of date and displays a do-not-use status. Daily checks do not renew it. A manager records the professional inspection result and the appropriate next due date after inspection. HoistCheck does not physically disable a hoist.

Can we still report a fault after the daily check?

Yes. The daily inspection is submitted once per hoist per day, but a new fault can be reported at any time. A professional inspection renewal does not clear a separate unresolved daily fault.

How do we get our workshop set up?

Request an invitation from Rob. Open your private setup link, enter your workshop and manager details, choose a PIN, and add your hoists with their two-post or four-post type. Submit the details for owner review. After approval, your workshop is activated and you can prepare your QR labels. Current availability is a pilot; checklist verification and commercial release review remain pending.

How are our records protected?

Workshop records are kept separately in the hosted MySQL application. Encrypted daily backups are uploaded to separate cloud storage and downloaded again for verification. Recent daily and monthly recovery copies are retained, and backup failures can alert the service owner by email. Staff should still check that each submission is confirmed. Backups are not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.

What does it cost?

$15 AUD plus GST per month covers up to 3 hoists ($16.50 including GST). Each additional hoist is $2 AUD plus GST per month ($2.20 including GST). There is no setup fee. This site accepts enquiries; it does not take payment or automatically start a subscription.

Does the software replace a professional inspection?

No. It helps record staff checks and professional inspection details. Manufacturer instructions, competent inspection and your workshop’s safety procedures remain essential.
